STORY OF THE BRAND
I'm Ellen Zhivulin – CPA, CGA, and founder of Evolve CFO.
I started my career in corporate finance, where financial clarity wasn't optional – it was the foundation everything else was built on. Then I looked at the small business owners around me and saw the opposite. Talented, driven people making decisions in the dark because their books were a mess, their cash flow was a mystery, and tax season felt like a yearly ambush.
That gap bothered me enough to do something about it.
I founded Evolve CFO to bring real financial management to Canadian entrepreneurs, not just year-end compliance, but the kind of ongoing clarity that actually changes how you run your business. In 2025, I acquired another bookkeeping firm and folded it into Evolve CFO, growing our team and our ability to serve more of the clients we love working with.
Today, we work primarily with mental health professionals – therapists, counsellors, and registered psychotherapists who are incredible at what they do and want nothing to do with their books. Franchise owners and independent tutoring centres who need clean, reliable financials across multiple moving parts. And professional services businesses – marketers, consultants, online entrepreneurs, and content creators who are scaling fast and need their finances to keep up.
